The Coqui Coqui brand evolution is just as magical as the products and spaces they create. Before becoming what we now know as a range of the most beautiful perfume scents and exotic spa locations, Coqui Coqui was once a humble ‘beach spa’ safari tent, run by husband and wife duo, Nicolas Melville and Francesca Bonato.
With six spa residences (all located in the most wildly dream-like places) Coqui Coqui has evolved to establish something more than a ‘brand’, it has established a sense of place and community, capturing the essence of their story and rich love of nature, the landscape and living simply.
The two-tower Coba Residence is a hideaway in the Mayan jungle that is said to ‘unleash your inner-explorer’. The spaces are designed with respect to the surrounding environment, walls build from unfinished stone and rooms finished with earthy palettes to relax and calm the soul, all the while capturing the aesthetic that is quintessentially Coqui Coqui.
The spa residence is a sensory overload on all levels, from the sounds of jungle creatures to the touch of natural linens and the aromas of traditional Mayan food (prepared, of course, by the locals). The space poetically showcases the beautifully exotic culture, offering a romantic and bohemian-like life for guests. At the edge of the residence sits a peaceful green lagoon that displays unique sunsets at the end of each day, capturing the beauty of life and simplicity . . .
