Umbrellas are not only beautiful they symbols of protection, care and liberation. Marisols are made by hand in Brooklyn and 20% of the profits are donated to women in The Democratic Republic of Congo who are victims of sexual violence. Victims are able to rebuild their lives at the City of Joy, a healing and training center created by women and sustained by worldwide activists’ movement V-Day. V-Day campaigns to end violence against women and girls through benefit performances and productions of the Eve Ensler’s award winning play The Vagina Monologues.

The entirely hand-made African wax-printed parisols are available in limited editions of 3 or 4. Each has a lifetime warranty and repair service offered in the utmost respect of the environment and the legacy of the product.

The steel ribs and frame brave the fiercest winds and at the push of a button the Marisol bursts open protecting ourselves and supporting a vision for a world where women are all safe and free.
