I LOVE MY ROOM
Any stylist will tell you what a rush it is to have your work published in a glossy mag. So, what do you do if you have had your styling work published in almost every mag under the sun? You write a book. And another. And then – to complete the trifecta, you write one more!
This is exactly what our great mate Megan Morton has done. Off the back of Home Love, and Things I Love comes I Love My Room – a new book all about children’s bedrooms. Megan has curated a divine collection of amazing rooms belonging to some sassy little folk (including her own) and all told in the hallmark Megan narrative that we love. Doubly special is that the photography is by Jason Busch, who we have worked with closely over the years, and the book is designed by Jason’s gorgeous wife (and new mumma) Penny Shek! It’s a family affair.
What’s so great about this book is that it’s real. We all know that styling and kids are not a natural match-made-in-heaven – so this book does not set out to make you feel awful that your own mini people’s bedrooms are not photo-perfect. What this book does do is show how to infuse your children’s rooms with personality, fun and sense of self.
It is a total visual feast, and beautiful cover to cover. You will love it. And in case you think you will need more than a book – Megan Morton is holding a ‘Kids room decorating class’ at The School tomorrow night, Thursday, 27 June 2013 (6:30 pm – 9:30 pm). We’re just a little bit excited Sarah-Jane will be a guest presenter at this event.
