COLOUR WEEK – EXPERIENCE COLOUR WITH TAUBMANS & ARENT&PYKE
Our work presents us with a wide variety of new and exciting challenges and recently we’ve had the pleasure of working with Taubmans to create their stand for the designEX event in Sydney. Taubmans are an iconic Australian brand with a monumental colour offering and it is no secret that we at Arent & Pyke, are passionate about colour. It was a match made in Colour Heaven.
Taubmans came to us with a brave and open brief and it was an opportunity for us to work conceptually as a team to design a place to experience the immense colour offering of the Taubmans brand.
For us, the stand is about interpreting the Taubmans colour offering as well as the online tools of the Taubmans Colour Galaxy™. The Galaxy is immersive – it is a mapped landscape of colour. This was key to our concept for the stand. It is about creating a landscape and a space to truly discover the quality and the immensity of the Taubmans Colour offering.
The stand is comprised of a huge blade wall of paint brushouts that celebrate Taubmans comprehensive range of 5,762 colours. It is a feathered graduation of colour comprising of approximately 1000 A4 hand screen printed brushouts (thank you Evie & Marie). If a wall isn’t covered in colour then black mirror reflects in quiet contemplation deeper tones of this colour testimonial. It’s a lovely collaboration of new blood and old establishments – Daniel Giffen‘s lamps Oko (table) and Lime (floor) complement with their exquisite simplicity while colourful Armadillo&Co rugs punch out from the black floor and Thonet thankfully lent us some Round Barstools to revive weary travellers.
Guests are invited to experience colour, by showcasing the brand’s colour offering, state-of-the-art online tool – Taubmans Colour Galaxy™ – as well as Taubmans’ core products, Pure Performance and Endure.
The stand engages designEX visitors tempting them to absorb and embrace the experience of colour – to walk along the length of the wall, find their favourite colour, photograph and share their images and love for colour over the duration of the designEX event.
When we experience colour, we are understanding and experiencing the pure joy that colour can bring to our lives and our spaces. It is about its transformative powers. It is about celebrating the mood it creates, its unique personality and its power to appeal differently to each and every one of us.
