Kate & Kate ‘Exhale’ Winter 2016
It is with great delight that we introduce Exhale the 2016 winter collection from much-loved Australian textiles brand Kate & Kate – led by sisters-in-law Kate Pascoe and Kate Pascoe Squires.
Inspired by a shared desire to ‘pause, reflect and forge a considered path forward’, the range of textiles is soothing in every sense of the word. The collection of blankets (their signature), linen throws, napkins, cushions and towels, have an especially gentle colour palette, dusty pinks, soft shades of blues and subtle gradients of grey mostly, are decorated in free-form shapes, and made of luxurious natural fibres. As well as the usual cotton and linen – of which only the most superior is used – this time they’ve also taken on luxurious Alpaca wool.
Speaking to the mood of reflection in Exhale even further is a sense of supreme craftsmanship, central to the Kate & Kate brand. If the simple shapes and clean lines, superior materials and washed colours don’t urge us to pause, then surely the hand-stitched finishes will.
They wanted the collection to ‘create space’, encourage us to take time, to exhale. We think they’ve succeeded. Each step in the design process, each detail, each decision stays true to the call for calm.
