The festive season is officially here and the promise of holidays shared with loved ones, feasting, giving and relaxing is almost upon us… The Arent&Pyke team have shared their individual festive wish lists which may inspire your seasons’ gifting, or perhaps self-gifting. ’tis the season to be jolly after all…

In/Out: FestiveWishlists

Juliette Arent | Co-Director

“I live in a well and truly Christmas-loving household!! Christmas morning consists of a Simon Johnson panettone served with Pepe Sayer butter and accompanied by a glass of Bollinger and a stovetop coffee. All of this is ideally the follow-up to an early morning swim down at Bondi. This year is really exciting of Matthew and I, as our twin girls Paloma and Valentina (just 3) have finally cottoned on to Christmas and the utter joy of the festive season…….it’s all about carols, tinsel, angels and twinkly lights!!!”

“Christmas to me is all about listening to the 1965 recording of ‘The Vince Guaraldi Trio – A Charlie Brown Christmas’, reminiscing about the time Mum and I spent Christmas in a very snowy New York City, watching Love Actually, getting overly emotional singing Silent Night, burying my head in trees at fruit shops all over Sydney and much much wrapping! Every year the wrapping gets rolled out with considerable gusto in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Last year I went Fornasetti Nuvolette paper with red and pink cotton binding. This year I’m workshopping, going a bit rustic with a blotchy ivory hand painted paper.”

“I love Christmas! When in Australia, I enjoy the laid back long hazy days, devouring both traditional and seafood summer versions of a Christmas feast with my loved ones, panettone and champagne for breakfast (which feels like lunchtime after the early risers for Santa) and sharing the magic of filling stockings (sshhh) and watching them being opened by our three little wide-eyed darlings. This year I’ll be in London for Christmas and I can’t wait to get there to feel the festive spirit in fairytale form, with a trip to Regent Street for the lights at dusk (plus a dash to Liberty for me). My kids hope it will show….I do too!”
