IN BED Store, Paddington
The online store, IN BED, well renowned for their luxurious linen bedding and thoughtfully curated home essentials has launched its first bricks and mortar flagship store right in our neighbourhood and we couldn’t be happier! The concept store is a real-life transformation of the labels eCommerce site and online journal, and the result is a relaxed and romantic display of IN BED’s bedding, bath, kitchen and home textiles, along with an edit of items sourced from like-minded brands such as Walk In The Park, Wingnut & Co, Henry Wilson and Tara Burke.
The flagship store was designed in collaboration with We are Triibe, drawing inspiration from past Journal features, IN BED’s beautiful campaigns and the homes of creative people all over the globe. Carefully sourced natural materials are layered throughout the space with custom built joinery and timber flooring, paired with lustrous olive green tiling and sleek, textural walls. A dreamy ambient glow is created through a glass wall, which lets dappled natural light from the treetops outside gently stream into the store.
Kitchen, bathroom, dining and living rooms are figuratively broken up to display the associated linen, ornaments and accessories for each space, alongside furniture pieces from Made by Morgen and Hay, further endorsing the homely feel. The custom-made dining table, built from hand-selected camphor laurel timber, becomes quite a focal point within the store, positioned below a large Akari Japanese paper pendant light and adorned with a highly covetable gathering of ceramic and timber vases, plates, bowls and dishes.
A unique retail experience with warmth and personality comes as a true depiction of the brand itself. IN BED’s founder, Pip Vassett, sums it up nicely, “This brick and mortar concept store is the perfect extension of our brand and we couldn’t be happier with the end-result. We hope that our customers will love visiting and spending time in store, exploring the products and simply enjoying the space.”
And yes, she is right, we do!
