Damm Design
Florida design duo Robert and Brenda Zurn of DAMM design create joyful lights. DAMM stands for Design.Art.Means.Motive and is the core principle behind this collaborative couple. Married for 18 years with five kids(!), these two artisans are invigorating in their dedication to conceptual exploration through design.
Wonderful arrangements of shape and material their lamps have small footprints but big personalities. Like the ‘Myron’ pendant with it’s mirrored underbelly, and the ‘Amanita’ table lamp with their shy metallic mushroom hoods. With names like ‘Noland’, ‘Theo’, ‘Little Boy’, ‘Theorem’ and ‘Hombre’ each piece has its own fanciful story. Built mainly from basic materials like timber, metal and stone, they are then waxed, beaten, brushed and patinaed into hues ranging from natural to smokey shades of blue black.
Follies of true dreamers this budding collection is just the beginning from DAMM. Exploring the more conventional side of glass, their next move is sure to have their touch of fresh delightful discovery.
