A luxe nautical cabin on the Italian Riviera
As if the Italian Riviera weren’t chic enough. Enter a luxury cabin set on the San Remo coast – all whitewashed wood, crisp linen, bespoke joinery with brass accents and nautical whimsy. A fresh space to be holed up – with panoramic views over the Mediterranean, complete with hammock and piano, and a rooftop loveseat for two….
Emil Humbert and Christophe Poyet of Monaco based design and architecture firm Humbert & Poyet have expertly and sensitively restored the once derelict, tiny cabin situated between Borigherea and San Remo.
At just 48m2, the cabin has been cleverly designed to maximise space, providing a fresh canvas where the view is front and centre wherever possible. Cabin-like creature comforts such as the enamel stove bought in England sit alongside luxe Carrara marble (with elegant brass edging) in the kitchen and balanced with a perfectly placed PETLAMP, and a restrained and thoughtfully curated mix of glass and enamel accessories.
This is the kind of escape we yearn for – just enough space for two, a view, music, books and all-year-round comfort. Shipshape and ever so chic…
