Eye candy abounds in colourful São Paulo apartment
The colourful, print-layered apartment of Brazilian jewellery designer, Brenda Vidal is a ‘happy place’ oasis amidst the bustle of downtown São Paulo.
The creative and expressive family home was cleverly designed by renowned illustrator, product and interior designer Ana Strumpf in collaboration with RSRG Architecture.
Capacious and bright but minimal it is not… a maximalist space that imbues personality and sentimentality while still managing to keep a fresh and cohesive feel.
Colour injects positivity and fun to each and every room from bubble-gum pink to pale sea-green to cool powder blue. Prints are chosen for colour, for texture and just because, but always with their backdrop in mind – from floral wallpapered bedrooms to Missoni cushions atop a crisp white sofa for relief – to custom upholstered arm chairs in the divine Svenskt Tenn prints.
Artworks abound and yet there is just enough restraint. Mixed media in galleries hung over printed wallpaper or the perfect hue.
Contrasting and complementing layers of shade, texture and collections of objet… a visual feast that entices owner and guests alike, made possible by the clever, clear canvas of space, of light and of the celebration of family life.
