Cassina returns to Space
The leading Italian industrial design brand, Cassina, celebrating 90 years, this year returns to SPACE in Australia.
In the northern Italian region of Lombardy, in 1927, brothers Casare and Umberto Cassina launched the Cassina brand. In close proximity to the design manufacturing hub of design, Cassina became the leader in industrial design during the 1950s. Fast forward to 2017, in its 90th year of operation, with the prolific architect and designer Patricia Urquiola on board as Art Director and here in Australia, the entire Cassina collection rejoins SPACE.
The Cassina I Maestri Collection offers some of the most iconic modern classics by the greatest 20th Century architects – authentic pieces by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, Gerrit T. Rietveld, Charles R. Mackintosh, E. Gunnar Asplund, Frank Lloyd Wright, Franco Albini and Marco Zanuso.
These pieces will be available at Space alongside the Cassina I Contemporanei Collection which includes designs by renowned architects and designers such as Mario Bellini, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jaime Hayon, Piero Lissoni, Konstantin Grcic, Vico Magistretti, Gaetano Pesce, Gio Ponti and Philippe Starck.
