Amelia Widell
Interior and furniture designer Amelia Widell recently opened the doors to her Stockholm apartment for the March issue of Elle Decoration, Sweden. Amelia’s apartment is feminine and bohemian and features a selection of furniture pieces from her brand Meli Meli. The Dahila velvet sofa, Carla armchair, and Flora ottoman feature throughout the apartment and are upholstered in Amelia’s signature velvet tones of dusty pink, ruby red and petrol green.
Contemporary pieces are combined with vintage finds that Amelia has collected over her travels, which gives the apartment both a personal and worldly touch. A Chinese antique cabinet sits in the living room with Amelia’s high heels on display inside. It’s these playful little elements, which give insight into Amelia’s character and creative eye.
Green feature walls brighten the living room and main bedroom and are offset by ferns, cactus, palms, and flowers, which scatter the apartment. Large windows with white linen curtains allow the sunshine to pour into the rooms and saturate the velvet hues of the furniture and colourful walls.
The kitchen walls are painted in a mushroom brown and are complemented by patterned tiles and a timber table top and chairs.
There is an abundance of colours, patterns and textures to feast your eyes on, which is enough to make anyone feel like a kid in a candy store.
