OUT/ABOUT: Armadillo&Co. and The Anganwadi Project
Armadillo&Co. is turning 5 years old and to celebrate, they are giving to the kids of The Anganwadi Project. These talented tots have collaged up a vibrant storm of shape and colour, which Armadillo&Co. in turn have realised into small woven artworks. These topsy-turvey birthday presents are being exhibited this Friday and Saturday at Mary Place Gallery in Paddington.
Our hearts are bursting at the images of these little personalities holding their collaged treasures. What a truly beautiful project to realize. Measuring only 25 x 30cm these small wonders are filled with such spontaneity and vibrancy that comes so naturally to kids. All proceeds from this not-for-profit organization go to creating safe and sustainable learning spaces for underprivileged children in the urban slums of Gujarat in India.
This is no fly by night alliance – Sally Pottharst and Jodie Fried the duo behind Armadillo&Co have been sponsoring the cause since 2011 and Jodie is the CEO of Anganwadi Project.
