Masquespacio’s Studio
Valencia-based Spanish creative design studio Masquespacio’s workspace is bold, bright and playful. Reflecting their brand’s adaptable personality, it is a space that feels easy to be in and inspiring.
This tone is marked right from the outset, when entering the studio we’re met with a waiting room that really packs a punch. With a neutral canvas as its base, the room is decorated with bold, rich-coloured furniture in decadent fabrics (including the ever playful, mushroom-like Toadstool collection designed by Masquespacio), hints of gold, a feature wall in peach, fresh greenery. At once the space is vibrant and light-hearted, luxurious and calming, light and open. Already a waiting client has a feel for Masquespacio’s eye for colour and material, their sense of both fun and sophistication.
As we wander further through the space this same sense of vibrancy and movement continues – bright blue walls and peach walls jump out from the white, partitioned walls allow for various ways of working and for those to be easily changed, there are always decorative touches and incredible colour coordination. Each space, too, has not one purpose only. The right space is a meeting room as well as the senior designer workplaces, the waiting room hosts casual meetings.
“Although it is a working space,” says creative director Ana Milena Hernández Palacios, “every moment we looked to incorporate decorative elements, besides vivid colours and upholstered furniture with the aim to create a warm atmosphere above just designing a place to work at.”
Masquespacio’s studio is flexible and fun, but that’s not just about aesthetics. This is a space that is conducive to designing itself – able to change as trends or projects do, move as the brand grows and develops, adapt as needs become different. For designers – who are constantly responding to challenges and changes – this studio is a pretty perfect working condition: motivating and full of energy, open and calming.
