Mansur Gavriel Pre-Fall 2018
Flaunting pastel hues of pink, blue, yellow and white, Mansur Gavriel’s perfectly tailored Pre-Fall 2018 collection communicates the brand’s minimal and pared back aesthetic. The label’s third ready-to-wear line, the collection of linen garments shows their signature sophistication and restraint.
Floriana Gavriel and Rachel Mansur founded Mansur Gavriel in 2012 with the intention of delivering practical and versatile, high quality bags. Like their bags, the label’s Pre-Fall 2018 garments play on juxtaposing notions of femininity and masculinity, seamlessly weaving the two aesthetics together through soft colours and strong lines.
Classic blazers and smart shirt dresses deliver unfussy elegance whilst delicate pleats and feminine necklines evoke a sense of timeless youth.
“We want to create a full world for our consumers” the pair explained in an official press release, shortly after announcing the news of their intention to expand into ready-to-wear at the beginning of 2017. The ambition, reiterated by the recent December unveiling of the brand’s third brick-and-mortar store located in Melrose, Los Angeles – expanding Mansur Gavriel’s reach and providing customers with a point of engagement on both coastlines.
Following the release of Pre-Fall 2018, their third ready-to-wear collection, Floriana and Rachel have affirmed their standing as apparel designers. Their strikingly simple line produced in two palettes – one neutral, one “emotional” – echoes the same vision and values that underpin the design of their bags: sensible sophistication. It is through colour, quality, construction and form that Mansur Gavriel continues to deliver easy and elegant pieces that play between the concepts of the feminine-masculine, youth and maturity.
