Arent&Pyke’s Christmas Wish list
It’s our favourite time of the year!
We have well and truly made it to the festive season and with Christmas and the summer holidays just around the corner, it’s time for Arent&Pyke’s annual wish list! The ladies of Arent&Pyke have chosen their top picks for Christmas, which will hopefully be a source of inspiration for some last minute gift ideas – or a sneaky splurge to indulge yourself.
All we want for Christmas is…
Juliette Arent | Principal
“I’ll be rocking around the Christmas tree in a pair of these beauties! I love the geometric shapes and precious stones – they are such a knockout.”

“I’ve been admiring the work of Katherine Hattam this year and would love to see ‘The Sociological Imagination’ on my walls. I love the combination of painting and mixed media, it adds another dimension to the work and makes you appreciate the details of Hattam’s artistic touch. I’m drawn to Hattam’s pop palette of blues, reds, and greens and I’m entranced by the layers of motifs and meaning, which is signature to Hattam’s style.”

“This festive season I am embracing the material du jour, rattan, but I’m taking it up a notch with the Gala chair designed by Franco Albini in the 1950’s. One can certainly dream of being oh-so-casually draped over its curves on long, languid afternoons this summer.”

“My mum and dad have one of these and I have many nostalgic memories of giggles and gossip around the Arabia teapot. The time has come for me to own one of these classic beauties. White or black, please.”

“Ditch the messy, hippy bamboo incense holders for this smart Apparatus option… so chic, so beautiful and so simple. The spun brass base has a beautiful sculptural design and is complemented by a porcelain dome top, which emits incense. This is a truly special piece!”

“Of all the wonderful artworks at Sydney Contemporary this year, the Guy Maestri painted bronze busts stood out head and shoulders (get it?) above everything else. In my dream home, there is a plinth just waiting for this one…”

Erin Depledge | Interior Designer
“Like most, I have always admired the effortless forms of Henry Wilson. The new Calacatta marble finish complements the beautiful shape and adds a touch of luxury! And really, who wouldn’t want a little bit of Henry Wilson to light up their life!”

“This year, instead of traditional Christmas ornaments, I would love to get some cute Christmas ceramics from studio Arhoj! I love their sense of character and playful nature. My Christmas display will be complete with a handful of these little Scandinavian ghosts.”

“The festive season is upon us and this year I am all about entertaining. On my Christmas wish list, I am opting for a white linen tablecloth and smoke grey napkin set from Cultiver to complete my dinner party set. A muted palette of white and grey to hero the vivid colours and fresh ingredients of summer.”

“Sunshine, seashells and saltwater – to me, this beautiful clam shaped clutch by Kayu Design inspires feelings of summer. I love the straw woven design, organic shape with scalloped edging and cheeky orange lining – it instantly puts you in a summery mood. Hopefully, I’ll have one of these on my shoulder over the holidays!”
