TOME Pre-fall 2016
TOME used Nina Simone as their muse inspiration for the Pre-Fall 16 collection shown at Mercedes Benz Australian Fashion Week on Wednesday night. It was a welcome return for the New York-based brand, by Australian designers Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin who are CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund 2013 alumni. The label celebrates the ‘every woman’ and is also made by women. This current collection is a heady yet cohesive mix of sixties and seventies influenced styles featuring upcycled denim, luxe leather, patchwork, inset star motifs and a strong trouser silhouette mixed with more feminine one-shoulder dresses, pleating, and vintage floral prints.
