OUT/ABOUT: Michael Cusack ‘Axiom’
Michael Cusack’s canvases from his latest exhibition ‘Axiom‘ are like abstract parties, forms filled with personality in intimate gatherings or independent – a tension in their distance, shy, or indifferent to one another.
Playful yet considered they have that simple balance that is so hard to achieve. Using mixed mediums he layers, scratches, scuffs and reworks until their warmth and textural qualities are harmonious. You can easily imagine how his palette of deep colours, charcoal and neutral pastels could influence an interior.
Although he now lives in Byron Bay we feel that his Irish upbringing had swayed him towards these moody earthl tones.
If you want to feast your eyes in person and draw your own conclusions be sure to visit Martin Browne Contemporary before 27th April.
