Palazzo Fendi by Dimore Studio, Rome

You don’t need sweeping vistas when in the company of Dimore Studio; their beguiling interiors are densely layered, warm and invigorating. Created to stimulate tête-a-tête they are cinematically charged, and Palazzo Fendi VIP Roma is another testament to this duo’s electric vision…

Palazzo Fendi on Rome’s Via Condotti, once the headquarters of this iconic fashion house, has been reimagined by a dazzling assembly of creatives each concentrating on their own slice. Now home to an immense Fendi store, a small but exquisite hotel, a world renowned restaurant, Zuma, and Palazzo Privé – the 1,080 square foot apartment by ‘Dimore Studio’ reserved for use of VIP clients for private fittings and secluded events.

Never shy of merging eras, Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci, of Milan-based Dimore Studio forage into the past, bringing architecture, furniture, colour, and pattern together provoking spaces that are mesmerizingly nostalgic whilst yield to an unconventional contemporary. This three room apartment saturated in colour is hedonistically atmospheric, as Moran notes, “Given the clientele, we wanted to give the space a collection of objects that is international but that will still seem Italian”.

From the moment the glass and bronze elevator opens into the vestibule you are seduced; a classical statue heralds you in, illuminated by a Dimore’s own gilded chandelier – made for Fendi’s booth Design Miami fair 2014 – loose furniture and abstract art alleviate the heavy historical plasterwork. This is a transcendent dreaming: a space where time is insignificant, a place to surrender to the Fendi narrative as translated by Dimore Studio.
